As Geoffrey Moore says, these are some pretty wonderful people at Davos - Chambers, Gates, Schmidt, and Zennstrom. A few years ago, they talked about business models and the future of IT -- I highly recommend it. So if you have an hour, put on your favorite head phones, kick back, and give it a listen. I've heard it 3-4 times over the last few years, and each time I learn something valuable. Enjoy.
Digital 2.0: Empowering the Creative Economy
Going from memory, here are some of the key insights these CEOs shared in the clip that validate rBlock's business model and strategy:
- Catching market transitions and understanding how to best apply technology to them is key to all of our continued business successes (Chambers);
- I think the biggest trend in the IT sector that we have to track to is the move from transactions to interactions, from a single google search to say an interaction between a store clerk and their customer on floor (Chambers);
- Google operates on the principle of end-user value; what is most interesting is that the best monetization strategies came out of our focus on end-user value (Schmidt).
